LEARNINGS
●
I’ve
learned that many professionals in the modern digital economy succeed in fields
that are miles away from what they've studied, so don't be boxed in by what job
you're 'supposed' to have written on the paper. Also I’ve learned that learn to
say yes first and learn how to do it later. This is risky but at least the opportunity
is already in your pocket. If you’re a fresh grad companies are not expecting
you to know everything. This time in one's career is the best time to take
risks. The ones who learn more and faster will likely taste success.
III.
SKILLS THAT CAN BE ENHANCED
●
Thinking
about where you want to be—planning, setting goals, and working out how to
deliver on them—enables you to take advantage of more opportunities.
As you develop in your chosen career, you will also learn more about yourself,
and what you like to do. Career planning also enhance ability to plan, organize
and prioritize work, ability to make decisions and solve problems, flexibility
and adaptability and interpersonal abilities.
IV.
CONTRIBUTION OF THE LEARNINGS IN THE FUTURE
● This talk have open my mind in planning my
career. This is the great time to start getting plans and for me to understand
the importance of career planning especially during the post pandemic work. When
you’re looking for a particular job, one of your main criteria should be “is
this job part of the digital economy?” because some jobs are not pandemic
proof.

SUCCESS STORY: CARMEN’S BEST ICE CREAM. When
it comes to homegrown artisanal ice cream, Carmen’s Best is immediately one of
the first brands that comes to mind. For over a decade, this award-winning ice
cream company has prided itself in using 100% fresh cow’s milk and cream from
their very own dairy farms. You can really taste the difference in terms of
quality and ingredients in every delicious scoop.
Most of us can agree that our days in quarantine have
dragged on longer than expected. Sometimes, we just need some sweet indulgence
to help soothe our moods and help us face the challenges of pandemic living. Thankfully,
we can now easily order Carmen’s Best ice cream online to enjoy in the comforts
of our homes.
·
About the Guest Speaker
Mr. Francisco “Paco” Magsaysay
Experienced Managing Partner with a demonstrated history of working in the food industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Negotiation, Business Planning, Coaching, and Event Management. Strong business development professional with a Masters in Entrepreneruship focused in Entrepreneurial and Small Business Operations from Asian Institute of Management. 2018 Agora Award Winner for Outstanding Achievement in Entrepreneurship - Medium Enterprise.
·
About the Business
Carmen’s Best is a well-loved local brand that traces its beginnings to 2007, when owner Fransisco “Paco “ Magsaysay’s father Jun bought a dairy farm in Bay, Laguna. At first the family had trouble selling milk because it didn’t last as long as commercial brands. Paco registered Carmen’s Best Dairy Products (named after his only daughter) in 2009 and experimented with various dairy products such as cheese, pastillas, and more. Eventually, he found his true love and passion in creating artisanal ice cream made with premium cow’s milk and quality ingredients. Today, Carmen’s Best has become a household name in the Philippines and is available in top grocery stores and restaurants around the country. By the end of 2019, they even opened their first international store in Singapore.
II.
LEARNINGS
·
I’ve learned that it is
important to love what you do. Being happy at work and loving what you do is an
overall productivity booster and enhances performance. People who enjoy their
jobs are more likely to be optimistic, motivated, learn faster, make fewer
mistakes, and better business decisions.
Work a lot of hours to overcome the advantage in the competition.
Build a strong team.
III.
SKILLS THAT CAN BE ENHANCED
·
Once you take on a task with a
positive mindset and think of the benefits you can reap from completing this
project, your work is more likely to happen in a steady, concentrated flow.
Being in this state of mind means you will be highly focused and fully absorbed
in the task at hand, just as you would be while doing something you really
enjoy. Being able to fully devote yourself to a task and give it your all will
make you more productive and knowledgeable, leading you towards success at
work.
IV.
CONTRIBUTION OF THE LEARNINGS IN THE FUTURE
·
Every time you are given a task
and view it negatively, this mindset is already making it harder for you to
complete your work. Doing work you love is energizing and creates a positive
feedback loop that fuels productivity. Your passion for the work energizes you
and vice versa, giving you more fuel to put towards success. The trick is
figuring out how to make yourself love your work – even the most tedious of
tasks.

BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY & CRYPTOCURRENCY: FUTURE OF BUSINESS
A Blockchain is a system of recording information
in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the
system. A blockchain is essentially a digital ledger of transactions that is
duplicated and distributed across the entire network of computer systems on the
blockchain.
A cryptocurrency is a medium of exchange, such as the US dollar, but is digital
and uses encryption techniques to control the creation of monetary units and to
verify the transfer of funds.

·
Blockchain technology enables
organizations to use different levels of accessibility. Organizations can do
faster transactions with the help of blockchain. Account reconciliation can be
automated. The transactions done are transparent and hence, easy to track.
4.
CONTRIBUTION OF THE LEARNINGS IN THE FUTURE
·
Blockchain could be used to
securely and efficiently transfer user data across platforms and systems. The
technology could also be used to maintain and protect records of real estate
ownership, titles, and more.

WINNING DISCIPLINES FOR SUCCESS.
The single most important attribute to becoming
successful is self-discipline. It helps you stay focused on reaching your
goals, gives you the gumption to stick with difficult tasks, and allows you to
overcome obstacles and discomfort as you push yourself to new heights.
The most successful people in life are disciplined. Discipline is made up
of the basic tools we use to cope with life’s problems and challenges. Scott
Peck in his book The Road Less Traveled says that “without discipline we can
solve nothing.”
Succeeding is so difficult for many people because life
can be frustrating. Frustration can provoke many to give up too soon. Each
challenge we face offers us the opportunity to grow, to improve upon our
skillset, to test our edges and to learn new ways to solve problems. Those who
are disciplined make their lives easier as their skill sets increase. To follow
are the markers of discipline.

LEARNINGS
·
The single most important
attribute to becoming successful is self-discipline. It helps you stay focused
on reaching your goals, gives you the gumption to stick with difficult tasks,
and allows you to overcome obstacles and discomfort as you push yourself to new
heights.
Turn innovation inward. Resourcefulness is about
optimizing what you have to work with. Innovation is not just about creating
something new; it also applies to making old things work better.
If you’re thinking of the bigger picture of the downturn,
it may be tempting to consider ways to re-invent how your company does
business. Adopting a realistic attitude about what you can do in the short term
might be more productive. That is, think revising specific tasks as well as
specific roles and responsibilities. Processes and procedures can be revamped
with an eye toward simplicity and cost savings.
Negative people will simply reinforce anything negative
that you say, and give you all the reasons why you're right in your negativity
and toxic thinking. Positive people will tell you can do it, and will give you
positive reinforcement which is what you need when you have doubts.
Develop your fiscal discipline. Develop your physical discipline. Develop your
spiritual and relational discipline.
III.
SKILLS THAT CAN BE ENHANCED
·
Maintaining fiscal discipline
is essential to maintaining macroeconomic stability, reducing vulnerabilities,
and improving aggregate economic performance. This is especially important if
countries are to successfully meet the challenges, and reap the benefits, of
economic and financial globalization.
Self-discipline is useful in many areas of our
lives.
For instance, it's what pushes you to do high-quality
work, even when you don't feel like it. It gives you the strength to stay professional
with your clients, even when you're ready to throw in the towel. It helps you
stick with and achieve tough goals that you set for yourself. Self-discipline
also enables you to keep going through to great success, despite what others
might see as seemingly insurmountable odds.
It can also improve learning and enhance performance.
Studies have shown that students with a high degree of self-discipline retained
more knowledge than those without self-discipline. Additionally, researchers
discovered that students with strong self-discipline were more careful in their
tasks, which improved their performance.
Research has also shown that measuring a person's level
of self-discipline is a more accurate predictor of success than measuring their
IQ.
IV.
CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE LEARNINGS IN THE FUTURE
·
Discipline is the ability to
push yourself forward, stay motivated, and take action, regardless of how
you're feeling, physically or emotionally. You are showing it when you
intentionally choose to pursue something better for yourself, and you do it in
spite of factors like distractions, hard work, or unfavorable odds.
Self-discipline is different from self-motivation or willpower.
Motivation and willpower contribute to it, as do persistence, the ability to
follow through on your intentions, and hard work.

Becoming a Global Marketer
Global marketing is defined as “marketing on a
worldwide scale reconciling or taking global operational differences,
similarities and opportunities in order to reach global objectives".
International marketing is the application of marketing
principles in more than one country, by companies overseas or across national
borders. It is done through the export of a company's product into another
location or entry through a joint venture with another firm within the country,
or foreign direct investment into the country. International marketing is
required for the development of the marketing mix for the country.

LEARNINGS
·
I’ve learned from Mr. Buddhamin
that there are no shortcut to success, utilize the wonder of time. Work your
ass off. Never stop chasing your dreams. Don’t you dare give up hope and let
yourself start slacking, because it might take decades for you to reach the
place you have been daydreaming about during late nights.
Know yourself and know your right to win because when you understand what
you’re great at, and design your capabilities and strategy accordingly, you can
define how you want to compete, and shape your own future. Also prepare and be
ready and know the qualifications to be considered for Global roles.
III.
SKILLS THAT CAN BE ENHANCED
·
It doesn’t matter how many
times you fail. Or how many times you get rejected. Or how many people tell you
that you should give up and get a real job. You are allowed to do what you want
with your own life. You are allowed to say no to a 9-5 job and take a risk, as
long as you are willing to accept the consequences — because there are
consequences.
If you are choosing to follow your passion instead of
taking the easy route, then you have to work your ass off on a daily basis. You
have to deal with more criticism than you’re used to hearing. You have to deal
with uncertainty and insecurity and self-doubt.
IV.
CONTRIBUTION OF THE LEARNINGS IN THE FUTURE
·
For the rest of your life, you
will have to continue pouring your heart into what you’re doing. You will have
to work your hardest every damn day. You will have to be productive, even when
you feel like hitting snooze. You won’t be able to let yourself slow down. You
won’t be able to let yourself take a break, even on your bad days, the days
when you suddenly feel like it’s pointless to keep trying.
Everything you have been doing is going to pay off one
day. Even if it doesn’t, following your passion is never a waste of time,
because you are enjoying yourself. You are doing what you love. You are following
your soul.
If the career you are chasing after is truly what you’re
passionate about, then it shouldn’t matter how much money you’re making or how
much recognition you’re getting. The only thing that should matter is how much
better you get at your craft day by day.

Being an Agent of Change.
In the pursuit of progress, change is necessary for
society to keep moving forward. Yet, with the limitations of the pandemic
alongside emerging, evolving technologies, change may thrive in whole new days,
and today’s youth, or the digital generation, plays a big part as the world
continues to navigate the challenges of the times.
In these times of change and conflict, young people also have an important role
in deterring and solving conflicts as they are key movers in ensuring the
success of both peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts.

LEARNINGS
·
I’ve learned that to be
enlightened is to be skeptical. Being skeptical meant that a person was able to
able to think critically and methodically. Be able to think methodically lead
to the creation of science.
Be decent and respectful even when others are not, respect in your
relationships builds feelings of trust, safety, and wellbeing.
Tell the truth even when others do not. “Supporting the truth, even when it is
unpopular, shows the capacity for honesty and integrity.”
Be independent-minded when others follow blindly. “People can tell you to keep
your mouth shut, but that doesn't stop you from having your own opinion.”
Respect the rights of others. Every basic human right draws its authoritative
force from the natural law, which confers it and attaches to it its respective
duty.
III.
SKILLS THAT CAN BE ENHANCED
Critical thinking skills are perhaps the most
fundamental skills involved in making judgments and solving problems. You use
them every day, and you can continue improving them.
The ability to think critically about a matter—to
analyze a question, situation, or problem down to its most basic parts—is what
helps us evaluate the accuracy and truthfulness of statements, claims, and
information we read and hear. It is the sharp knife that, when honed, separates
fact from fiction, honesty from lies, and the accurate from the misleading. We
all use this skill to one degree or another almost every day.
IV.
CONTRIBUTION OF THE LEARNINGS IN THE FUTURE
·
Critical thinking is necessary
in business success. This is the reason why decision-making is a key skill
valued by employers. Leaders in business
and non-profit organizations view a candidate’s capacity to think critically,
communicate clearly, and solve complex problems as a core competency.
Critical thinking is often cited by organizations such
as the World Economic Forum as being needed for the future of work or the 4th
Industrial Revolution. This is when
employees must be able to respond to a rapid rate of change in business and
technology. A time when education and
training will have a limited shelf-life (the majority of today’s students will
work positions that do not, yet, exist, and can not be taught, now) and
learning must become a lifelong endeavor.
Evolving world culture and information-intensive media channels
invite us to apply critical thinking. We must interpret, analyze, evaluate,
explain, and draw warranted inferences about what to believe and what to do in
a stream of novel and, too often, time-limited or high-stakes, uncertain
situations. Further, research studies consistently show that strength in
critical thinking correlates with workplace and academic success (as seen in
the certification and licensure in the most valued professions).'

The Future of Workforce
The Covid-19 pandemic launched us into the future
much faster than we expected. While the uncertainty is scary, we must look at
it as an opportunity rather than a challenge. It's an opportunity to innovate,
evolve and bring more people with us into the new age, where there is a more
level playing field for us all to move forward. The digital economy is
unlocking new opportunities to drive the workforce of the future and create a
workplace for us all.
What will the future look like, and what does it mean
for the workforce and youth of today?

II.
LEARNINGS
·
I’ve learned that we develop
communities to practice teamwork because we know how important it is to build
relationships and collaborations in order to create a long-term support system.
Success is heavily reliant on your self-development habits and leadership
abilities, which emphasize empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
III.
SKILLS THAT CAN BE ENHANCED
·
Advancements in digital and
unified communications, allowing for real-time audio and visual connection,
have made it easier than ever to work remotely and efficiently from anywhere in
the world without compromising the quality of interactions. In fact, at the
advent of the pandemic, many white-collar companies around the world were able
to make the work-from-home shift almost instantaneously.
IV.
CONTRIBUTION OF THE LEARNING IN THE FUTURE
·
Developing skills that endure
for life: While digital skills are essential for the future, particular
attention was paid to skills that endure. Preparing youngsters for a lifetime
will help them to understand the rapid evolution of technology better and adapt
their skills to the different scenarios. Skills for life need to be better
incorporated into the curricula not only to understand technology but also to
help them on all spheres of life. Some of the skills mentioned were: assertive
communication, perspective taking, emotional intelligence, and critical
thinking.
Memorization of information is still an essential part of the learning
experience. As memorizing is precisely the thing that machines do best,
participants highlighted the importance of critical thinking as a tool that
will help youth to better prepare for the future as it will enable them to
better understand emergent technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and
machine learning.

INTRODUCTION.
·
Success in the Midst of the Pandemic.
The pandemic and its resulting wave of isolation
and economic uncertainty have taken their toll. Some people have found their
mental health has suffered. Some have coped by engaging in unhealthy activities
like substance abuse or working too much. Many of us are fearful about what comes
next and how to protect themselves and their families.
It’s important to note that much of the world is in the
throes of a crisis now and simply continuing to exist and function during the
pandemic is an accomplishment. So, if you haven’t launched a new business,
written a novel, or baked a dozen loaves of bread, that’s okay. But hearing
about how others have thrived in the midst of chaos can sometimes offer hope
and inspiration.

LEARNINGS
·
Failure is an investment in
learning. Entrepreneurial mindset is a way of always seeing things from a new
angle. More importantly, it is a mindset drawn towards opportunities,
innovation and value creation. An entrepreneurial mindset is a set of skills
that enable people to identify and make the most of opportunities, overcome and
learn from setbacks, and succeed in a variety of settings.
III.
SKILLS THAT CAN BE ENHANCE
·
The best entrepreneurs are
persuasive individuals. The power of persuasion can help you negotiate, close a
sale, or score a lower price on your inventory. Not to mention, persuasive
people tend to be inspiring leaders, ergo they tend to be stellar bosses.
Even if you’re not in a “creative” industry, creativity is needed for
entrepreneurial success. The mind of an entrepreneur is always looking for novel
ideas and innovations. The basic life cycle of any entrepreneurial product
stems from the conception of an idea followed by turning that idea into a
viable product or service.
A positive attitude and outlook is a must for successful entrepreneurs. The mindset
of the head of the company sets the tone for the rest of the company and
influences corporate culture.
IV.
CONTRIBUTION OF THE LEARNINGS IN THE FUTURE
·
Having an entrepreneurial
mindset helps you to quickly identify problems and provide a timely solution.
You're not one to sit around and wait, you have a strong intuition and if want
something you'll go get it. Having this mindset means you know the importance
of keeping moving forward even when difficult.
Entrepreneurs help bolster economic development, create jobs, and
invent products or services that can make the world a better place. Being a
successful entrepreneur requires outside-the-box thinking and larger-than-life
ideas. Anyone can come up with a new idea, but building a successful business
around it is the entrepreneurial challenge. The entrepreneurial mindset is
unique in that one must be creative, communicative, and highly motivated to
succeed, yet open to risk and failure.
